I was wondering if anyone has any information about a couple of the sculptures in the park. Close to the ampitheatre are a couple of bears carved from the tree, and farther north there is an eagle carved into a tree.

I was wondering who made them and approximatly when they were made.

Thank You.

Thanks for the information, I have always liked chainsaw art and thought about having it done when it comes time for our tree to come down. I am actually looking for information about the park sculptures for a project I am working on.
Thanks again

Kaw, I don't know who created the sculptures at the park, but they look like the work of a chainsaw artist from Alex. He lives just a few doors west of Well's Boiler Works on Monroe Street. This talented artist has an outdoors studio and welcomes people to watch as he works. He also has a booth at the Small Town Festival, and has sculpted uptown by the library at various events. If you have further interest, I can provide more details. He has done several works around the area, including a sculpture in a good friend of mine's yard very near my house. My friend, who is a Vietnam Vet of the Airforce, cut a tree and left a 4 foot stump which was crafted into an eagle (much like the one in Elwood), very nice work!
