St. Joseph Catholic Church

1306 S. A. St. 765-552-6753

Pastor:  Father, Paul Cochran

SERVICES:

Mass times for St. Joseph Parish are Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Thursday at 6 p.m.

The weekend Masses are offered at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

During the school year we offer religious education classes, pre-school through high school on Sundays from 9 a.m.-10:15 a.m.

Biographical History: St. Joseph Parish takes its inception for the advent of the first Catholic settlers who came to Elwood in 1853, and they became the nucleus of St. Joseph’s. In 1862 the first property was purchased on South A Street and a small church was built with only 175 members. As the Catholic faith grew and spread in Elwood the little church was enlarged and was moved to a larger one, until in 1894 eight large city lots were purchased adjoining the original church property, and in 1899 the present house of God known as St. Joseph’s was built. It is patterned after the Romanesque model and style of architecture. The priceless stained glass windows were also installed at this time. Over the years this small group of original Catholics grew with the growing City of Elwood and St. Joseph’s Parish now numbers in the thousands.

Minister:  James E. Snapp, Jr.

SERVICES:

Sunday School - 9:30am  Worship - 10:15am

Thursday - Bible Study - 7:00pm

A gospel-sharing church! We believe that God calls all people to turn away from sin, to surrender to Him, and to rely on Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Each member should share this message, in word and deed.

A non-denominational church! The fellowship of Christian Churches and Churches of Christ has no offices above your local elders and deacons. We're not the only Christians, but we are Christians only!

A Bible-based church! We seek to study, understand, and apply the Word of God to every aspect of our lives, guided by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is our definitive authority. Our worship services are modeled after examples in the New Testament, focusing on the apostolic teaching, fellowship, the Lord's Supper, and prayer.

A loving church! We intend to transform Madison and Tipton Counties by expressing God's love! We aim to carefully search, clearly proclaim, and lovingly apply the teachings of the New Testament.

Jehovah's Witness

1030 S. St. Rd. 37  765-552-3271

SERVICES: Unknown

IT IS the desire of Jehovah's Witnesses that you become better acquainted with them. You may have met them as neighbors and fellow employees or in other daily affairs of life. You may have seen them on the street, offering their magazines to passersby. Or you may have spoken briefly with them at your door.

Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses are interested in you and your welfare. They want to be your friends and to tell you more about themselves, their beliefs, their organization, and how they feel about people and the world in which all of us live.
