I have seen in the paper about a company expanding to Elwood. They are taking phone calls and setting up interviews. I know quite a few people that have interviews today and tomorrow. One of them that had a interview today was told they have the job and can start Wensday. When I started asking about what they would be doing and what the company was, they told me they didn't know. How can you go to an interview and be told that you have a job, but the interviewer won't tell you anything about what your going to be doing, or about the company. He did say that it was some sort of medical wharehouse or something like that. If I was going to an interview, I would want to know everything about the company, the job, and what I would be doing. Something just doesn't seem right! I'm hoping these people that I know don't quit the jobs that they've had for sometime now to start at a job they know nothing about. If you ask me, I think this is very risky and somewhat scary. Does anyone know anything about this company? The company's name is S.E.I and the add is in tonights paper under help wanted.
Who in thier right mind with an economy the way it is, would buy a 2K dollar sweeper?! Hope the poor SOB's dont show up at my door!!!!
When I was out and about Sat I saw a bunch of people in a van going around town and then dropping them off to go door to door but wasnt sure if it was these people or church people.
I just tried the number and now it is a busy signal. Maybe they are still in operation. I heard they had some people going door to door in Elwood already.
Edgar
I let a man come in and show me his sweeper once, because I felt sorry for him. He had is wife and a very small child in the car waiting for him. My mistake! After he showed me the sweeper he ask if he could use my phone to call his manager and that it wasnt long distance. So I said sure. well when the phone bill came in next month I had calls on the bill I knew I did not make. I call the number and it was the sweeper company! I was just a little upset and let them know! Don't let them in your house it is useless. Couldn't afford the sweeper anyway
lol!!
sounds good Andss, i only charge 29.95, but no cod's please lol...
Sounds good Tammy. When our hoover breaks down I'll get the parts from you!! lol
my husband works at a apartment complex in fishers and once in awhile people will throw out a perfectly good sweeper, so i havent had to buy one for several years...i hope someone else decides to throw another one out soon, i sure could use a new one lol....
We have a hoover that we paid $100 for 8 years ago. Still works like new....
I don't know anything about the company, but I do know that my mother-in-law has a rainbow sweeper that she bought pobably 20 years ago and swears by it. I also have a Tri-Star and love it!
Look for a letter to be in the Call Leader within the next few days warning about this.
My Daughter was trying to sell me one a couple of years ago for I think it was like 2800.00. I looked them up on line and they were 600.00. She quit the job. ;-)
Maybe someone should write a letter to the editor in the Call-Leader to help warn the folks that read it? It's not hard to get caught in this, it's rather easy.
Anoter sad part Edgar is all the info on the applications they now have in their hands!!! Mine included!!
Name, address, birthdate, ssn, work history, etc!! Hopefully the info will be safe, but if you have
a deceitful company what is to say that they won't use that info!!! The company seemed legit up to a point.
Even the history of Rainbow is legit and a good company... it just seem the way they do business is a scam!
The phone number is still disconnected. Search online at Synergy Enterprises, LLC. Their product is Rainbow cleaning systems (sweepers like Kirby). No warehouse, or storefront in Elwood, at this time. The ad is very untruthful....the sad part is some people have quit their job for this already.
Edgar
Yes, The guy I know that went to the interview and was called to come back for training this morning at 8 am had already called his boss and told him he was getting ready to quit to get another job!! My husband talked to him after I did some research on it and let him know he shouldn't quit yet unless he wants to sale sweepers or be without a job!! This isn't a good thing..Can they get in trouble for something like that?? Wouldn't it be considered false advertisement or is it legal because of how they worded it?? My husband thought about reporting them to the BBB but wasn't sure..on what terms?!? This is a very crazy situation if you ask me..I feel sorry for the ones that did fall for it and got scammed to quit their jobs...Now there's more jobs lost around here...Sad Sad Sad!!!
No doubt it's a scam folks.
I just called the number and it's been temporarily dicconnected. HMMMM!!! I've always been told if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I hope no one gets scammed by this company but I'm a bit afraid of it. If the HR person doesn't know what's going on that should send some warning signals. It did to me.
Its not worth it. Been their dont this. back in high school but I was dumb then. The funny thing is. Someone selling vaccum came to my door one day. What they do is send a business looking person to the door and they bring you a free box of laundry soap or what not. hey I was about out. So I said ok, so they ran back to their car and 2 boys jumped out with this box. Sure enough it was the kirby. One model newer than I tryed to sale. They came in and I told them. Look I tryed this in West Virgina, I'm not going to buy this and you wont make any money doing this, since they work off commition. So I let them go thur there whole spill. I actually show them somethings they didnt know. LOL it was great. All for a free box of soap. LOL we all got done early, and they sat on my front porch until they ride came back. They drop some off then drive off and drop some omre off, and go back for the others its retarded. ITS A JOKE. But if they give you a free gift then its worth it. All you have to do is say NO. If anyone would like for me to come over and show you there product when they get there I will, but I keep the soap.
Back when I was in high school, I responed to an add similer to this one about the money, big money and though holy crap this is awesome. So I called and they said meet at a big hotel (i dont remeber the name of it) in the board room. Ok so i go and in this room is about 20 ppl and the had refreshments and I sat and waited. After the meeting got uder way they were talking about, (you guys excited to make money and quick) oh yeah, then they got into it. Selling kirby vaccum cleaners. WTF I had not a clue about how to sell. So after this seminar they take our names and tell us to meet them at their office for training. So I did. We had to go thru this song and prayer and all sorts on nonsence. After all said and done they finally said. Money is commition. You sale you get paid. See when they first open these company ppl got a weekly pay check but since they couldnt sell them they changed it. We meet at like 7:00 in the morning. about 5 of us loaded in to this 1988 van, junk. and took off way out in the country, like 2 hours away and we didnt get back until like 9:00pm. All they would do is find ppl's house stop and ask them if they could give them a free gift and show them there prodouct. I learned a few things then I quit. There was no way I was going to get up like that everyday, spend all day watching, learning and working, and not get paid until I sold one. Its a joke a big Joke. You will not get paid, unless you sale 1. And this Kirby company that I was in came from California. And our trainer had pics of ppl who bought 1 and his pay check stubs. But when I was working with him, nobody bought 1 off him. Plus we were in BFE kentucky, where their floor's were dirt anyways. And no one has that kind of money. There awesome, I'll give you that but not for the price. Its a joke.
I called as well and asked the lady what they did and she said she really didnt know. I asked her what she did and she said she was in H.R. How you gonna been in H.R. and not know nothing about the company you are being H.R. for. Thats like being a car salesman and not selling cars. She kept wanting me to do an interview and I said that I would call her back and she said that they were only doing interviews monday and tues. So I said nevermind. It may be something worth wild, and the pay looks great on paper, 1295 bi-weekly, but when you can't get a answer to what they do, then looks to me like that 1295 comes on commition. There's been talk of the town like always from someone who can't pay there electric bill but knows everything about everything, where this so called business will be located in elwood. Which is probably not true.
These people need to be KEPT OUT! They are scammers!! I unknowingly went to one for "TRI-STAR" a few years ago because they advertised "Warehouse Workers." So very wrong! I couldn't sell vaccums for 1999.00 to friends and relatives who didn't have the money.
I was called by this S.E.I (they are on Monster.COM) and on the application it asks, "What type of car do you drive?" Whay would that matter if I am an office worker? It shouldn't. Also there was somethingthing they told my group that the guy lied about 1) "You won't know till you get the call if you are hired." <--- He told me in an interview I was hired. Also, only 1 guy dresses professional. You have no picture of the product or the company name and logo anywhere. 2.) Our guy aslo said "You will have 3 minutes to tell us about you.<-- More like 10-20! I also after almost being scammed by "Tri-Star" asked if the companies were 'sister companies' due to the exact same opening and so on. I was utterly promised empahatacally (sp) that NO WE WERE NOT. WE ARE THE ORIGINAL. Funny, that's what the other said too!
PLEASE DO NOT BE TAKEN BY THEIR SCAM!!
I can't say theat enough or loud enough.
It is very much a scheme. They put an office in cities, just long enough to hire a few people and suck the city dry, then they move on. They promise $500 a week while training, which you don't see unless you sell, then they offer you the $500 or if you really want the job, they give you a percentage. As soon as you have tried selling to all your friends, neighbors and family, they will drop you like a ton of lead. Beware of these companies!!! There is Rainbow, Tri-star and Kirby. They all work the same and are all over-priced vacuums.
Above is the website for the company. I looked at it and I am still unsure. Some parts make me think it will be a pyramid scheme with employees primarily doing cold calls to sell their respective products. However, I could be wrong.
WHOA!!!! Sorry for ALL the copies of my message!!! System was saying I had an error!! So I just kept
trying!!! And then just decided to cancel the entire thing... And then they all showed up!!!
Maybe my SAVE key was just stuttering!! LOL!! Help Al !!
The company is called Synergy Enterprise LLC. They manufacture and sale air purifiers to hospitals (and smaller ones for homes) around the world. They are suppose to be bringing either a warehouse or an office building to Elwood they are not sure which one yet. They are hiring for many positions and they do tell you what you will be doing for the job. But when you go to the training, which starts Wednesday morning at 8 am, they will be giving the employees set jobs. That is what I got from it.
At 1 o'clock this afternoon, I too checked out this 'new employer coming to Elwood'. Ground floor opportunity!!
I had called this morning about the company and was asked if I could be there at 1. They are renting a space
in an old historic bldg in uptown Anderson next to the Paramount Theatre. During my time slot there were only 5
of us. His - Bob - first question out of his mouth was.. Any one here from Elwood? I raised my hand and then he
said.. What is the population of Elwood? My brain is saying .. What? Don't you know?. I told him about 9,500.
He said that someone in the morning session of about 15 people, said 800 another said 65,000!!! I said no, it is
only about 9,500. I'm still thinking... if you are starting a new company - branching out from the South Bend
area, why would you go to a city you know nothing about???? Ding ding ding...bells and whistles going off in
me little head!! After about 15 min. of company introduction, which of course seemed too good to be true, Bob said,
at the bottom of your application, write words that describe you. Then Bob walks out of the room and the guy next
to me said... Does anyone after that, ever find out what the company business is or what their product is? We laughed and said no. The guy walked out!! That left 4! I said well, now that I know what the actual name is, when I get home I'll Google to see if I can find out anything!! A man and a lady were together and they came back in to get the lady for her interview. It lasted about 5-7 minutes. She comes back and the man goes in. Then she turns around and said... I still don't know what the sell or do! LOL!! The man comes back and then they leave. With only two left, myself and a young lady about 25 yrs old. I go in for my interview. The interviewer looks over my resume and seems impressed with my background and said that he would review it with the other office team managers. I ask why Elwood if you know nothing about Elwood. He hedged and then said, he wasn't sure
of upper management's decision making and couldn't answer that!! But he would give me a call back in 1/2 hr.
They told all of us that after our interview we would be called in 1/2 hour to give us their decision of whether we were accepted or not! Oh Really!! LOL!! As I am leaving, he goes to get the other lady waiting. Well during my interview time.. she walks out!! LOL!!! When I got back home it was about an hour later and there had been
4 phone calls from them but no message left. Then later, they called me and said Congratulations, you are hired.
You can start Wed. at 8a.m.! Oh Good!!!
Now I have had the time to do some research ...actually Googled, I found the company web site:
synenllc.com (no www.) Type that into your browser and sure enough you'll see Bob!! You'll also see their product
line. The Rainbow Home Cleaning System. For all you youngsters out there... The Rainbow system is a vacuum cleaner with various attachments. There is a cleaning system, an air filtration system, etc. Rainbow is an old
company who I thought went out of business in the late 50's or early 60's!! And it is expensive!!! We are talking big bucks back then. About $500 - $1000. for this system, that was then!!
Now I ask you... who in Elwood is able to afford the Rainbow Home Cleaning System for that amount of money??
Oh and another thing, when asked when the company would set up in Elwood, the answer was 'probably' in the next
60 days! They don't even have office space yet!! They probably haven't even been to Elwood!!
Maybe that is not the product they are going to produce and sell... but that is what is on their web site!!
Another one of Bob's sales pitches for employment was... you don't need any training. We'll train you. You don't even need any education, we'll train you. We don't even care if you have a felony record in the past, we'll take
anyone!! If you want to make lots of money and have the drive and ambition... We'll train you!!! WHAT!!!
Ding ding ding!!!! Hear those whistles blowing!!! LOL!!
Maybe someone should notify Officer Dunkin!!! LOL!!!
I will know more after Wednesday!

Now they are answering their phone. The guy said a storm knocked out their phone system which temporarily disconnected them. I asked if they were really thinking about putting a warehouse in Elwood and he said yes. Then he quit answering questions and said to call 643-5701 for an interview. It is still Rainbow sweeper systems, but I have heard that they don't go door to door. They call on people by referral. Have a good day!
