I am wondering if anyone has At&t Uverse television service, and if you do how do you like it, are there any problems, would you recommend it, that kind of stuff. We currently use Directv and are coming to the end of our contract and are considering a change.

Thank You

I have been very satisfied with DirectTV. I've been with them since 2008. There have been just a few times during severe storms that service was lost for only a few minutes, and twice during wet snow that I had to brush off the dish. The thing I like is I can take my service anywhere I go. We camp and I have a dish on tripod. I can take my service anywhere there is electrical hook-up, even to your backyard. You just have to look at what your own personal needs are.

I like Comcast cable for its speed and reliability! I can download a printer driver for example, on cable it will download in a couple of minutes but DSL takes about 45 minutes. I also have heard from some of my customers that the U-verse boxes have problems. I have found the rule of thumb for Elwood is people seem to be happier with Comcast. I know I am!

Oh a good phone to use with cable is Magic Jack. We use it for our home phone and I use it for all my long distance calls at work. Saves me tons on long distance calls!

We were with U-verse for a little over a year. For the most part it was good but the last 4 months we started experiencing the freeze ups where we would have to power down all our boxes and the modem and unplug everything then plug it back in to get it going again which in turn would cause us to loose all our dvr recordings. When we moved is when we started having the problems not to mention that the At&T tech stole our linksys wireless router when he done the installation in our current home. we filed a complaint with At&t but they never did anything about it. At&T also started raising their rates to where it was going to run us almost 200.00 a month for internet phone and T.V so we done away with it all and we use our cell phones for phone service and have went with Xfinity or Comcast for our internet and T.V and all is good.

Thanks for the replies, I know all services have their pros and cons, just trying to find out as much as I can before commiting. I have heard that uverse has had issues with the receivers "freezing or locking up" and becoming unresponsive. Have you had anything like that happen? We have had comcast before and the service was ok but we had some pretty bad customer service encounters.

We have AT&T Uverse. We really like it. Since we have had it we haven't lost the tv signal during any of the storms. My neighbor has it with the internet and she really likes it. Her's is wireless because she only has her cell phone.
