Your Old Home Town has been fairly quiet these past few weeks. Partly because the weather turned so cool, I suspect.
Construction is still going strong all around the city. The new buildings uptown are receiving finishing touches and are looking good.
The new fountain at the corner of South B and Anderson Streets was turned on to make sure all was OK and it did look great. Can't wait until it is on permanently. For those who don't know, the "cooling tower" goes down under the fountain. Works for me.

North Anderson Street construction is supposed to
be started the last of May. Probably means sometime in June before they get
going. It will take about the same length of time to finish as the south part
did. It will look nice when all is finished.
There really isn't too much news from here at this time. We are all paying close
attention to the war news and there are many yellow ribbons on the trees around
town. Hopefully, we will keep seeing more and more of them. There are several
from here who have been deployed to Iraq and points in the middle east.
Fortunately, none have been wounded or killed and for that we all give thanks. Our prayers are that all of the young men from your town or families are also safe and well. I respect all who are opposed to the war and who say it makes them sad. I would hope that they know those of us who support our troops and the policy of this nation are also saddened by war.
Let us keep our prayers going for all of the military people and the families that care about them and for each of us as we go about our daily living.
