A MOMENT IN TIME

by Sharon (Woods) Schwartz '55

A   JOURNEY'S END

 A solitary bird
 Hovers over the
white-capped sea
Then dips down to quench
its thirst.

Its mate appears and
greets him
As together they fly
To places unknown.

I too like the solitary bird
Wait for my mate-my love.
I too long to quench my thirst.

To fill the loneliness
And the desire
To be touched and loved.

To be joined by my love
Who makes me feel joy.
Fills a void empty for so long.

I sail on across
That white-capped sea
Where the sky and the
Horizon become one.

The raindrops on the windows
Of my sailing ship
Trickle down like tears.

At my journeys end
Will I too fly to places
Unknown with my love?

I pause and I wonder.

This is a public service announcement for the City of Elwood.

There are quite a few of you out in Den Land who will not know about this event and who might possibly be interested in what it offers. If you should have a dream of owning your own business, especially in your home town, then this is for you. It is also for those who are wondering just what all these groups you keep hearing about on this list are doing. They are working hard, I can tell you, for the revitalization and renovation of this beautiful small town of Elwood, Indiana. It will never again be like it was in the 50's and 60's but it can be much better than when you saw it last.  There are many who live right here in  town and do not know any more than those who are living in California or Florida about what is going on here.
