Mindy

My name is Norma (Barmes) Abbott ’47 and I want to introduce our dog, Mindy, to the Den.

She’s a 4 year old buff cocker spaniel and terribly spoiled. If you love them, then they seem to get that way.

One night we were all in bed asleep. I heard a beep but ignored it and went back to sleep. In just a few minutes, Mindy was up in my husband’s face trying to wake him. She knew something wasn’t right with that beep.

Jack had to get up, check the carbon monoxide/smoke detector alarm. That was what was beeping. Mindy stayed right there with Jack until he put in a new battery and that stopped the beeping.

 Who knows but what it could have been the real thing. She could have just saved our lives and we’re happy we have her.
