A loving, generous nature, a witty, ribald sense of humor, compassionate personality. All this and much, much more, all tied up in a very small package.
This only begins to touch the surface and describes my little sister, Mickie. Her friends and family remember her with a gratitude that she touched their lives in so many ways while she walked this earth.
She loved the Den Site and enjoyed so much being able to reconnect with her old WLWHS classmates.
Mickie was a great mom and grandmother. She was an animal-lover, and never failed to spoil all her pets, and mine too, for that matter. She went back to college at the age of 50 and made the Dean's List. She said she had to do her very best because she had kids and grandkids she had to show her report card to.
She was athletic and enjoyed sports, especially basketball and golf. She once stood on her head on a ledge on top of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Did I also mention that she must have been just a little bit nuts? She was absolutely fearless. She was a distance swimmer, having swam across Silver Lake in Angola, Indiana, when she was 7 months pregnant. She could do a perfect jackknife dive and water-skied like a pro.
Her passing left a huge void in the
lives of those she loved.
Forever proud to be her sister,
