Without Them
A
Tribute to Someone Special

Rita (Blitz) McQuitty '56
Looking through my Crescent recently, I wonder why no one has thought to
remember Rita Biltz
as one of the persons who had a smile on her face all of the time.
Rita never let
her accomplishments as a Track Queen, cheerleader, roles in two plays,
etc., put her above others. She would speak to anyone in any grade.
Setting with the letterman, she was still trying to get people yelling when a basketball game was seemingly lost. She loved the chance she got. I often had small chat with her, but one I will not forget. On a cool spring night at work with few customers, we chatted about our school year being almost over, and with a touch of tears in her eyes, she said "I really hate for it end."

Bless your heart Jerry for remembering Rita as I often do. She was one swell gal with kind words and a sweet smile for everyone, popular or not. She was an angel right here on earth.
